Not tonight

by Cadia   Dec 10, 2006

Smile at this,
Laugh at that,
She tries so hard
To put on her best act

She can't let it show,
She can't let them see
What's deep inside her,
What's making it hard to breathe.

But she can't fake it anymore
At least not tonight
The dark rings under her eyes are showing
She can't put up another fight

With her body she fights all year long,
But somewhere, sometime, something will go wrong

Her body will give in,
It'll just die inside,
And she won't be able to fake anymore,
Not one smile

Her tears will stream down her face,
Her chilling screams will call for grace,
But nothing will come, no one will hear
She's forever stuck in the darkness,
Her very own fear.
