Longing for the child

by Ele   Dec 11, 2006

I am a child inside
And like a child I hide,
I feel so small
I'm scared of all
For I am still a child.
My age determines nothing
For I have a child still within,
She lives forever with me
She's all I wish to be
And I long for her in everything.
I miss the innocence of her youth
I miss how she was sheltered from the truth,
She didn't feel as much pain
Which is why I wish to be her again
And why I long for her in all I do.
I miss her innocence
How she lives with a good conscience,
Doing only what's good
How I wish I could
Live her way with her innocence.
