Keep your mind open

by katie!   Dec 11, 2006

How do we escape truth? When all else stares us in the face
Where do people turn to, when they are lost in disgrace
Some sort of redemption, Some sort of forgiveness
To live a life of freedom, where retribution cannot reach

Will you reach out? To a faith of your decision
Will you face down your woe, with a lack of precision?
For a priest or an imam, cannot forgive sin
When some of them are so locked away in sin themselves

How beautiful, to have been there, when religion began
The concept so perfect, a near wonderful plan
But there is one thing, which was never expected
Human error, human flaws, cannot be forgotten forever

It is a pretense, so subtle, so woven in truth
To believe in forgiveness from somebody new
Do you put your faith in me, Though we have never met?
Or do you reserve judegement, until you know who I am

Head this, Do not rush blindly into trust with no lesson
Believe in your Lords for sure, but keep your aggression
Life is not black and white, it is cyan, magenta, emerald
So believe by all means, but keep your mind open

This is a really great poem. I agree with you entirely about life not being black and white, and I find it sad that people won't open their eyes to see that.
