Home alone

by Bridget   Dec 13, 2006

Home alone one night,
curled up on the couch,
I hear the wind howl,
and the windows creak and grouch.

I turn the T.V up louder,
and switch on another light
But it doesn't stop what happens next,
give me a humongous fright!

I freeze and stop breathing,
as my ears pick up a "tap tap tap"
Of course it must be a murderer
"I'm going to die" I think, "Oh crap!"

Should I turn around?
I argue with myself in fear
"Yes" I decide, and slowly turn my head,
to see the cutest four-legged pair.

I sighed with relief, as i saw my pet cats,
Paws up against the window, eyes open wide,
my two clever cats just wanted to come inside!
