What matters, matters not!

by Daniel   Dec 14, 2006

So gently and soothing
Or perhaps wicked and painful
Dreams and nightmares
Two simple sides to things
That are everything but in existence

"A tale, a myth... Or a glimmer
of that eternal cycle upon
which human life must,
perforce endure?"

Memories of loved and hated ones
Twisted or glorified in our minds
To endeavor and to savor
Or to forsake and destroy
Both used to recreate and construct

From every thing to nothing and back
But in truth back to what?
An existence devouring all?
Or what we covet so deceitfully
And what we call life

A loss or a trauma - a lesson?
A train of thought - all the same
So must we despair through reality?
Or perhaps be destroyed by experience?
We forsake wisdom with our short sight

What wisdom do we earn?
What do we truly learn?
What do we see when we look into darkness?
What do we look upon with grief struck eyes?
When will any of us ever learn?

None
Nothing
Despair
Our own demise
Never, for this is the curse of mortality!
