A lovers escape

by Tee   Dec 15, 2006

Flashing lights and alarming sounds
vehicles chasing two lovers-
two poets
sweaty palms fixed in rough fingers;
they jump the fence
and escape with nothing but each other

each figure of authority chasing hungrily.
dogs barking
radios signaling tired attempts:

they are long gone, romeo and juliet
they have gone into the poets' tragic love story.
