Angel On The Mountaintop

by Sea2Summit   Dec 17, 2006

Angel on the mountaintop
waiting patiently up above
Where I reach to join you
with our true everlasting love

But then I slip on a landslide
of your undeniable fear
Triggered by your silent stare
and one remorseful tear

Tumbling back to my cold cold shell
lost in the sands of time
The familiar place I fall back to
after each failed climb

Don't ever hold yourself hostage
in your own purgatory
Quickly find your heart and follow the sun
to discover your true reality

These stones of my tomorrows
I'll now just skip across the sea
Holding fast to the image of you
and our treasured memory

When the white clouds come calling once again
to take you to God's higher ground
Don't forget that moment with me
and the one heart we had found

And if loss or sadness
should creep into your precious soul
Look deep inside for what's been gained
to make us both feel whole

Soar high now to your heaven
on a wing and with a prayer
But if your soft winds should blow back to my shore
I'll be waiting for you there
