In the Lake Of Our Love

by Unrequited   Dec 19, 2006

Can you see the heart pierce through the mourning sun?
do you believe those words on which you were born?
but don't you give in.
never give in.
you are thrown into submission, under hungry eyes
deception is your blanket, within the misty breeze
your breath ignites as your comfort dies
false-hearted thunder crashed into your grave
it's too late to save the day
your forgotten hero died
upon mountaintops revealed
severed intentions concealed
he was a shadow, not your lover
who you are, he never discovered
he was not yours, buried behind broken doors

exalted spyders trapped in a wake
expose his darkness, you release your faith
he didn't even try to say goodbye
he left your heart high and dry
didn't even try
now all you can do is be free,
and fly

half-eaten secrets cover the scars
Saturn soothes your spirit, unlike timid Mars
an unborn tear torn by your sword
as we deny the past, we breathe our last
we listen for the crash of the broken bomb
and we cry for the sadness of the deep dark song
melancholy, blue-crowned eyes
we drown, saving the savior's life
in the lake of our love
the lake of our love
where i want to reside
the black kingdom inside
the gray angels fall
in tatters, they fall
into your grave
i want to reside
let me run and hide
inside of you
together, we dissolve our words
create what we misheard
i hold your heart through the night
forever i howl, don't ever say goodnight

it's angered isolation
angry demolition
love's simplified division
can i ask what did i do?
inside of you
to make you feel blue
it's all the same
always insane
your tears are cold, they are to blame
for i can't see you
i can't see you
but how could i believe you?
please let me complete you
in the absence of my crimes
never aligned
forgiven in time
were you ever mine?

i will sit down and hold your hand
let you explore what we never had
it's too bad
all i could do was make you sad
i wasn't it at all...
i made a mistake when i let you fall
into your grave
i screamed your name
but i couldn't save
all that we had made
a kiss to the wind, i keep my secrets shut
locked inside of me
kept there, waiting for you
everything's for you
no matter what i do
you still feel blue
cause i've given up on truth
my maturity expired within your youth
my love, it keeps you warm
through shattered nights
our love, let it ignite
i'm getting older
hungry eyes getting colder
but it's not over
it's never over
as long as i'm here
have no fear, don't shed a tear
keep the stars aligned
forever in time
partners in crime,
together we fly
in the lake of our love
the lake of our love
upon the wings of the mourning sun

Wow....tom..i dont know what to say. there were so many dark and sad and mystical parts to it...could you explain it to me better in an email? I reallly liked it though, just the perfect way you write it. and for ome reason these lines really struck me-

    half-eaten secrets cover the scars
Saturn soothes your spirit, unlike timid Mars

Just the whole correlation with the feelings and the planets was wonderful.
