Moonlight

by Kurt   Dec 20, 2006

The moon shone bright
While the stars blinked
On that cold winter night
A boy and girl lay arms linked

She whispers in his ear
"Baby I love you madly"
His response is hard to hear
"And I need you so badly"

The time slows to a crawl
Romance lingers in the air
His eyelids begin to fall
Slipping him into Dream's lair

She grasps him tight
As he dozes off
Somehow she knows he's right
With his gentile lips so soft

In the morning they both rise
To go their separate ways
There are tears in her eyes
And she wishes they could stay

One week will pass by
Until the reunite
Underneath the starry sky
And the moon that shone so bright.
