Here we go Again

by dandy   Dec 26, 2006

You think maybe it's getting better,
you believe what friends say to be true.
You tell yourself "I can do this",
before your sadness goes askew.

Take it slow, one day at a time
don't be in a rush to heal.
Sick of waiting for the pain to pass,
you'd rather not even feel.

Friends can only say so much,
their kind words come and go.
You shake your head in your mind's eye
and whisper "you don't even know".

Happy times are unfamiliar,
tears plague your eyes too often.
You want to feel that love again
and wonder when the hurt will soften.

You get some glue to mend your heart,
putting back each broken piece.
A faint rhythm can be detected,
so why won't this feeling cease?

You begin to form a barrier,
not strong, but it'll have to do.
It isn't long however,
before it's ploughed right through.

You thought you were feeling better,
but you saw him just then.
Your heart now forms some brand new cracks,
Oh no...Here we go again.

Your minimal progress is now destroyed
and your right back where you began.
You once again feel that excruciating anguish.
That pain only caused by one man.
