Always and Forever

He used to tell me his secret
He would cry on my shoulder
He said we'd be "bestest friends"
Until the world is over.

But now he has a girlfriend
With me he won't be seen
How could this so-called "friend"
Be so horribly mean?

I thought I knew him
But I no longer recognize
This person that hurt me so badly
With all his nasty lies.

But then one day it all collapsed
His perfect world disappeared
He came to cry on my shoulder
Exactly what I feared.

His girlfriend dumped him
She just got tired one day
Even though he begged her
She just walked away.

I consoled him, let him cry
I knew I couldn't stay mad
At my very, very bestest friend
When he was this sad.

He tells me that he's sorry
To have caused me so much pain.
He tells me not to worry
He assures me he won't do it again.

So we go through our days
Our friendship still going strong
As long as we're forever friends
Nothing can go wrong.

But one day when we're older
I'll remind him of those days
About all the times he hurt
In those numerous ways.

On that day he'll realize
That I spoke from my heart
And I was the one
Who loved him from the start.
