Talking To My 11 Year Old Reflection

by Lillye   Dec 27, 2006

I looked into a young girls eyes once
To see what I could see
They were glazed with passion and defence
A soul that longed to fly free

I asked you close what were your fears
And you stayed frozen
One true emotion that began to run free in each and every one of your tears
And this you had chosen

She turned to me and wiped her drowned eyes
Why do this to yourself? I say
This is where my future lies
She holds it back and breathes in tightly
She chooses to carry on once again

This Girl seems so familiar
Shes Young and naïve, lost and confused
I turn around to take it all in, and think what I should do
A Situation in which a young child shouldnt be,
I turn to face her, and she has gone
Shes a 11 year old me.
