Photograph...to my gram

by Nicole   Dec 28, 2006

I glance at your photograph
Lying on my nightstand.
My eyes begin to water
As I grip it in my hand.

All these memories come back to me
As I look at your sweet smile.
How I remember yours was so contagious
And your laugh that could be heard from miles.

I take a glimpse at your pretty blue eyes
And notice how much they glow.
As a tear falls from my own,
I notice the true happiness that shows.

I remember how easily you showed your love
How to you, your family meant the world.
And out of all of your seventeen grandchildren,
There has only been one marriage and you ended up with only three girls.

I know you had to leave us,
But the presence is still there.
I can still feel every breath you take,
And hear your voice that fills the air.

As memories keep filling my mind
And my eyes continue to fill with tears,
I look back on all of my favorite moments with you,
And cherish the past 14 years.

All I've got now is this photograph
Yet I can still feel your love.
And I will always treasure the love that you have shown me,
And the more that I will recieve from above...
