What happened to you and me? Why did we do this to ourselves?

What's happened to you and me?
Why is it that we seem the same?
We make each others stomachs twist,
Every time we both take that knife to the wrist.

Were so alike,
We both crave the pain.
We don't know what we have to gain.
We cut to show that we need the escape.

It's the only thing we can control.
It's the only thing that we crave.
It seems to be our only way out.
That's what this is all about.

Life's 80% pain for us.
Anyone who knows what we go through,
Wouldn't criticize what we do.
We do this as our escape.
It's all we can do,
To stop the pain from getting through.

We can't control what happens to us.
But this we can do.
This will help us get through.

People say its wrong and something they wouldn't do.
I once said that to.
But then things got so bad.
It seemed that was all that I had.
If you felt this way to,

We try all we can to get away,
But it just pulls us right back.
This is something we lack.
We lack the strength to stop.
Even though we want out,
You have no idea what this is about.
