IF I COULD TOUCH THE SOUL OF TIME

by Jeff ROWE   Dec 29, 2006

If I could only touch
The soul of time
And possess today,
I’d capture
This very moment
Here with you
In my loving arms
Under moonbeams soft and pale
And starlit ebony skies.
I’d capture your twilight kiss
Lingering on my fiery lips
As we eagerly express
The desires
Of our silent affections
While the fragrant mist
Of our passion
Promises more to come.
And if I could touch
The soul of time,
We wouldn’t need
Clocks and calendars,
For there would only
Be an endless night.
A night for our love
That would be timeless—
For you and me.

I've never in my life of countless poems, by novices and those famous, heard anything so well said. Beautiful syntax!
I can't wait to read more of your work!
