One Last Kiss

by Lauren   Dec 31, 2006

A cold razor cuts against her skin
the blood drips to the floor
her strength is wearing thin
she can't take anymore

claws at her eyes
till the image is erased
she doesn't realize
that nothing's in its place

a pounding on the door
a sound that as hard as she tries
she can't ignore
she shuts her eyes tries to hide

he screams through the wall
to get her to hear
as his tears begin to fall
a little life in each tear

"if i could take your pain away
I would bleed for you"
as she starts to slip away
reaches for something to hold on to

finds his hands strong in hers
he cries over her dying form
"this is not what you deserve."
his shoulders bent and forlorn

cradles her gently in his arms
whispers in her ear
"I will save you from any harm"
the words she longed to hear

as she looks up at the man
she is so in love with
as he holds her hand
and gives her one last kiss
