Monster

by Zeke   Dec 31, 2006

Tonight is the night of everlasting contempt.
Here, with great fear. I spent a year locked in rest.

I take a moment to regress,
but the urge continues to press.
I hold hand on my breast,
and let the tears do the rest.

Each wave of my sorrow,
is shrouded in pain.
Each beat of my restless heart,
pulsates through my vein.

There is nothing inside,
the head I once used.
The thoughts are all dead,
rotten, and abused.

I kick around my heart,
stomp it into the dust.
Chew open my veins,
and watch the arteries rust.

A machine of a man,
a production of fear.
I am Frankenstein's monster,
year, after year.

A tireless soul,
so tired inside.
But in good spirit still living,
but failing to thrive.

Tonight is the night of everlasting contempt,
Here in my fear, I lay my heart down to rest.

Excellent choice of words. I especially like the line" Chew open my veins."
t accurately depicts to desperation and hopelessness of the speaker.
