Yesterday

by DeAnna   Jan 2, 2007

I sit in yesterday's t-shirt,
Still in a pair of yesterday's jeans
Knowing it was better then
Wishing it here, by all means
The pictures from yesterday, now faded
Give life to my fondest memories
The trials and troubles of today,
Acting as my frightful emery

It was so much easier yesterday
I can't face what tomorrow brings
Everything was better yesterday
Today is filled with dreadful things
Things I cannot bear to tackle
I can't get free from today
My arms tied up in this violent shackle
This could be my last day

Still in yesterday's memories,
I give life to photos from then,
Hoping and wishing the times to return
Praying over and over again.
Yesterday, my worries
Were free as a bird
Troubles from yesterday, untied
Up until today occurred.
