Journey

by Jonathan   Jan 3, 2007

Want as he may
the Princess gave no sign
if soon the dark skies would clear .

A Captain of vessels that sail far and wide
but no riches
outshone Her hair.

Plodding through storms, swells and night
the symphony of troubles
brought our Hero no fear

Fixed were his eyes; his quarry in sight
voice of angels
his soul to be there.

Recalling the night in East Ansia
when what She said
no others could hear

Sapphire eyes had
caressed and embraced him
Prince Proper could do nothing but stare.

Since that day he knew ,he had to return
to his one Love
this Princess so dear.

Two more nights sailing
He passes the hours
wondering if ,his name, Her heart bares.

Alas there was no homecoming
for our Hero
and his Guinevere

Autumn storms had blown up
wrought their deadly wrath
reports of no crewmen spared

Could it have been
that Fate had laid
this path so wrought with tears

The Prince will have the
Princess
Their royal name repaired

But somewhere out
above the blackness
our Hero sheds a tear.

His soul
forever searching
for his Princess everywhere.

For you my beautiful friend Chrissy

    I disagree.

I really love the vibe of the poem, and the style of the words go very hand and hand with the imagery created. tells a lovely tale filled with emotion in such a small amount of writing. write some more, this style is a nice relief to what i am acustom to reading.

that the fav part of your poem =) it reminds me of myself when i was looking for a gf

but u might use some easier words, like instead of blackness: use Darkness
simple poems are usually good =)

keep up the good work tho
