Beatings As Greetings

by Lillye   Jan 4, 2007

One punch, two. Three or four
By that time I hit the floor
A shadow, a portrait of my deepest fear
Reflects in pain within a tear
Words, abuse, shouted from above
How can you say, this is love?
Voices become distant, far away
But pulses of pain, continue to stay
I close my eyes, and wish for death
After all, what is left?
Open your eyes! you start to scream
But I remain within my dream
A kick in the stomach, a shot of pain
A dreadful greeting, it will remain
Beatings as Greetings
In this place, this palace, this prison
You learn to live
With that youre given.

I liked it. The opening left me a little off, but it does fill it's purpose in the end.
An overall well composed poem. Congrats on your poetry skills,
    but boo unto heartbreak.

This is a great poem, but very sad. =[ you should deff tell someone if this is really happening to you or someone you know bc nobody deserves that kind of relationship.
