Those who know me
Seem to know me well
I don't trust easily
I don't always tell

Having a friend
That very special one
Is perfect while it lasts
Until all said and done

I was very little
She was my very best friend
Until a boy got in the way
Quickly our friendship came to an end

After a long time
A new friend I began to trust
She knew everything about me
Now in the past, a total bust

Many years later
A met a unique man
He quickly became my friend
I became his number one fan

It took me awhile
To open up my heart
He was always by my side
Supported my from the start

There was something about him
So honest and sincere
I shared many feelings with him
He took away my fears

But it happened again
Another friend I lost
Fate played its card
A friendship it did cost

Whenever I was happy
He was the first to know
He knew I had good news
My face expressed a glow

Whenever I was sad
Unhappy or feeling down
He had the right words
To turn around my frown

When he was unsure
Words were amiss
He gave me a big hug
And a sweet gentle kiss

Will I trust again
I don't know if I can
Will my feelings stay bottled up
I’ll always be his number one fan.
