What will i gain?

by David   Jan 6, 2007

How can I survive?
If you shove my love aside
Whys it him not me,
You love so tenderly.

Love makes me wonder
And love makes me cry
So I start to ponder
All whens and whys

I ask myself why bother?
When I have nothing to offer.
My dreams are shattered
Nothing else now mattered

I am in the past
Cause it went too fast
I have no future
I did not capture
Lifes little quest
To cut the duds from the best
The true meaning
Of love, and its feeling.

Cause for why should I live
And why fight the pain
I have got nothing to give
And what will I gain?
What will I gain??

Pretty deep, the flow could have been a little better. the strucutre was pretty good, a wee-rounded poem

In "love", it's not what you will gain, it's what she/he will gain. it's not the love you receive. it's the love you give. of course to be loved back is such a beautiful feeling. but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) we can't force others to love us.
All in all, a lover must feel just the way you had mentioned in your poem "I owe you anyway"(a pretty good poem from a wise soul)!

    keep shining,
