Bigger Than it Seems

by Taylor Porton   Jan 7, 2007

What to do when you're feeling blue?
Scribble out words to ease the gloom?
You sure as Hell wouldn't write out a rhyme.
You'd end up tired, with wasted time.

So why don't you...
Round up your feelings into one big ball,
push them to the egde, and watch them fall.
Tumbling down, they stir up dust,
your loss of connection, love, and trust.

Rolling away, you sigh in relief,
nothing like bottled up pain and grief.
You lean over the edge, and stare into space,
try not to be stunned, and wipe the shock off your face.

There are millions of wads of aches and hurt,
settling in among rocks and the dirt.
You see, many others will toss out their feelings,
sometimes, it seems, it's the best way of dealing.

You brush your hair back and glance over your shoulder,
you shriek to yourself at the size of the boulder.
Thundering closer, you've got no place to hide,
but don't panic now, you've already died.
