Faraway.

by Emily   Jan 7, 2007

That rapid beat of my heart quickens
as the corners of your mouth rise
it then melts into a small puddle
when i see the glistening in your eyes

i hear the melody of your laughter
the sound of your footsteps when you run
i see your silhouette of silver and orange
gleaming under the too-bright sun

I\'m speeding towards you
you, the race of never-ending fear
sprinting, running to where you are,
as if any minute you\'ll disappear

the distances between us continues to grow
with each step i take towards the end.
i can\'t go on with this race,
i can no longer pretend.

can\'t you just make it easier for me?
just warm me with your smile everyday.
even with a quick and simple hello,
you completely take my pain away.

on rainy days and freezing nights,
just place me in your arms and keep me warm.
stay with me just for a little while,
and keep me safe from the storm.

i guess I\'m asking for too much.
i was never worth your love anyway.
I\'ll just continue watching you from a distance
and long for you in a place too faraway.
