Turned To Walk Away

by Mr O   Jan 9, 2007

Sitting here
I wait for you
my coffee getting cold
I wonder if you'll be here soon
Or perhaps you thought it over and
you think of me to bold
Something more
important
could
have
made this
meeting slip your mind
Did you
come to
the conclusion
that its just a
waste of your precious time
Another cup of coffee
while impatiently I wait for you
My hopes are fleeting faster now
as I realize what is painfully true
That I shall not be seeing you on this
or any other day
But I would have loved to love you
overheard the waitress as I turned
to walk away

Neat ending. I liked the part where the waitress overheard you! That was nice. Very full of imagery and thoughts.
There's a typo in the 4th line. It should be "here" instead of "her". Just thought I'd tell ya.
    Thanks for your comment!
