Snow Covered Memories

by Damaged Goods oX   Jan 10, 2007

The snow has now covered
the footsteps you left
when you suddenly decided
to walk away from me forever

the snow will now not stop
when it did not snow
for two months
after you left us

the snow it now covers
the memories
that bring me pain

it covers the grass we laid in
for the summer sun to warm us up
it covers the very park where
my memories of you try and survive

the ice that is mixed
with the mud and leaves
now withstands a mirror
of what used to be me

the very cold
sends chills down my spine
just like your fingertips would
when they would dance upon my body

Jack Frost is now
the only one that i
will passionately kiss back
like i did to you

for he too leaves
to not come back soon
as his icy hands
take grip on my broken heart

i don't think i can break this fall
you are forcing me to take
for the snow has blurred my vision
and frostbite frozen my mind on you

i know to move on
i must fist let you go
but my icy grip will not loosen
for the fear to lose my everything

if i let go
i will have nothing left to build upon
to try and get my life back
all i have left is snow
