Oneself

How can one get through life without saying what one wants to say
The way one feels
The way one hopes
The way one just cant say whats on ones mind without hurting that person
So one stays silent
One settles when one should be who they are
And not who one thinks one should be

How can one delete a part of oneself, a part which creates a huge part of who one is?
One denies oneself
But one cant help but know what one is feeling
One has no-one one can trust
To understand what one is going through

How does one keep going, with so much past pain weighting on ones shoulder?
One pretends there was no past pain
One creates a new past through tomorrows yesterdays
One tries to not let the past pain effect what is now
Yet one cries still

How does one hide ones pain?
One cries when no-one is looking
One feels the hurt in ones heart not through ones face
One writes but never sends
One sings songs that no-one hears
One whispers instead of shouting
One smiles when one is frowning inside

Do people notice?
the smiles that arent real
the songs that arent heard
the feelings that dont show expression
the letters that arent sent
the whispers that arent heard
the tears that arent seen

I notice the smiles that arent real
the songs that arent heard
the feelings that dont show expression
the letters that arent sent
the whispers that arent heard
the tears that arent seen

Do you?
