A Walk In Your Shoes

A walk in your Shoes
by Tine Delien

I took a walk in your Shoes
To prove I can do something better
Than all the lies you always told me
Scaring away all empathy
You brought this to a change
Who made life so tough
Without you

I put on your shoes today
And Told you all Iâ??d never say
Along the canal we walked together
But both we were still alone
And so lost without the road
We used to walk together
never on our own

Black pearls were
shining upon the ground
The street that I was walking
caught me and it frightened me
Seemed to be whispering your name
Like some foolish game
I used my legs and ran

Your shoes are on the ground now
Outside in the dark where they belong
Because they have scared me as much as they did
Even though they carry your memory
It still is hid
And you aren't here anymore
Time has gone through without you
And so will I
