Speechless

by Sami   Jan 12, 2007

Struggling at the tip of my tongue
but pouring out of my heart,
like those old songs a million times you've already sung,
the waiting goes on forever.
I'm not speaking
and you wonder why
well i'm thinking and my heart's sinking,
could you understand?
So close
yet you've never been so far.
I think of you the most
but with every thought, the farther you get.
Close enough to touch
but not enough to confess
the silence is almost too much.
and i think i would i like to love you.
i think i could
if i tried
and i think i would
if i could only bring myself to try.
Prince charming
or just a fairy tale?
This thought is a bit alarming
but i like it.
When i look at you
i hear the music
accomadating the moment to
which we try to live in.
If only this could pass my lips,
roll off my tongue with ease
instead of struggling at the tip.
(i could let this all slip away...)
i don't want the silence hiding within the memories of words i did not say.
And there's only one thing to ask of you
I don't want this to slip away,
so do you think i could love you?

I love the fact that you ask "Do you think I could love you?"
asking the person if they know, just a great way to put it. I loved that line the best, great poem all together!
