Crescent Moon

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Jan 12, 2007

Sitting in the car
Looking out the window
Writing a song
As we drive along,
Sky is changing colors
Changing hues,
Deepening from blue to black
With shades of red and yellow
Along the horizon,
A single sliver
Of silver
Shines against the dark,
Clashing with a subtle sense
Of pureness, of calm,
Crashing a silent sound,
Shedding light on all,
We're looking at the same moon,
You and I,
The same light, the same hope,
That we'll be together once more,
Counting down the days
'Till I see you again,
And staring at the moon,
Seeing your face
Reflected on its surface
And wondering when
I'll feel your arms around me
And taste your lips,
The moon reminds me,
Of all that once was,
And all that can be,
Your face I see
In the crescent moon,
And, once again,
I dream.
