Girl In the Mirror

by Nicole   Jan 14, 2007

Right here I see a girl.
Why does she look so sad?
Tears keep falling from her eyes.
What's really going on,
Beneath all those hidden lies?

She's got so many issues
Ones she can't explain.
Ones that can't be broken.
Ones that cause her pain.

She doesn't know why she is the way she is,
But it's something she can't take.
But everything has become a habit.
Ones she can not break.

She remembers her past
Full of happiness and bliss.
And just now she realizes
How much of it she's missed.

She misses her old self.
She regrets all the choices she has made.
She's sorry for her own pain she's caused
And all the prices she has paid.

All she wants is her old life back.
The simple one without any fears.
She needs a way to be herself again,
And take away all her tears.

She wants to start over and forget all her mistakes
But it's much harder than it may seem.
She's got all these wishes, but the one that matters most,
Is that this was all just a dream.

She keeps looking at this mirror,
At the person staring back.
And sees those once beautiful brown eyes,
Suddenly turn black.

Now take a good look in that mirror.
What do you see?
Here I see an unhappy girl,
Who just happens to be me.
