Ocean in the night.

by Jenna Balkin   Jan 14, 2007

Dancing in the silver moonlight,
with glistening sparkles reflecting off the surface.

She cries.

A sound of haunting echos,
encounter your ears and encloses itself within.

So peaceful.

Whispers from secrets unknown,
creatures that dwell beneath the surface of the smooth crystal blue.

So silent.

A late night dolphin,
escorts it's young by it's side across the waves of the sacred water,
and beneath it's depths of midnight blue.

So beautiful.

I am swallowed by the grace of the wild sea,
the beauty it holds and shows, and the beauty it releases in me.

So reflect-ant.

I really like poems about nature and this one is no exception. I find that the Nature section of Poems and Quotes is where some of the best poems are found. I like writing Love poems and find that I incorporate many nature themes into them. There are a lot of poems in the Love section but there are only a few that really shine where in the nature section I find the opposite – most of them are very good. I enjoyed your poem and hope to read more from you in the future. If you like trees you can read a poem I wrote called – The memory of my shadow. The poem Searching also has a nature theme - I wrote this way too long ago when I was a kid and have thought many times to rewrite it as an adult. But something are left the way they are no matter how badly you wish to change them.
