Rodger the spider

by sparker   Jan 14, 2007

I was sitting drinking tea one day
When a noise came from the attic
Something banging something
The sound was quite erratic

I got my friend Rodger the spider
I picked him from his web
And sent him to investigate
"alright", the little guy said

Up the wooden hill he went
And disappeared into the hatch
To light his way in the dark
He lit himself a match

After several minutes
I heard a mighty thud
Down came Rodger the spider
With a pidgion drpigeonin blood

He dragged it to the back door
And looking rather hard
He kicked the battered pidgion
pigeono the yard

Rodger then turned to me
He wanted paying for his task
He didn't say a single word
His look was how he asked

Turning out my pocket
Showing I had no cash
Rodger brought up his leg
Ready to give a bash

"baguettes is how I'll pay you
I have nine out in the back"
Rodger brought down leg
giving up on his attack

With a grin upon his lovely face
He said as cool as ice
"I don't need nine baguettes
Eight should be suffice"

Now he is so happy
And has developed quite a strut
As he got his new French baguettes
And placed one on each foot

And because of his new found height
Being up on top
He looks old enough and tall enough
To get beer from the shop
