Song of Silence

by John Wright   Jan 16, 2007

Theres a long road
down which i walk
alone and quiet
while others walk by
they never stop
they never speak
alone in life
forever weak
there was once a voice
a single sound
this little ringing
i always found
but that has gone
and left me alone
and threw my journey
i search it down
once so strong
a cocky man
now half broken
almost falling down
we all know this feeling
this feeling of defeat
but what else is life
then hurdles we should leap
we all fall down
we all get up
but what ever happens if we dont get bak up
I feel the cold leaving now
dawn is breaking in the distance
you took away my sun
tore away my heart
you thought you left me broken
but not even you can keep me down
the wait is over
your silence is complete
its time for me to sing
sing my song of your defeat

as anyone of you might have noticed in most of my poems i make a special reference to babygurl...or as most of them end #1....this was a very special girl in my life...someone i loved very much...but we have been over now for quiet some time and i just havent been able to bring myself to write any new poems...so this is the first one I've written in almost 2 years....I've jotted down a few lines a couple times but i never could fit any 3 together....so i guess let me know wut you think....this is the beginning of a new day...one where i am #1
