Outside Alone with Layla

by Poetvoices   Jan 16, 2007

High above the world
Green and Black and Brown,
Shadows cast upon short grass
and the leaf soars.

From down below,
Murmuring loud and strong,
Darkness encases all near places
and the leaf still soars.

Above my rocky seat,
Splintery and rough and thin,
A green light pierces the night
because the leaf will soar.
