Never The Same

by Pain Remains   Jan 17, 2007

I said I wouldn't let you hurt me,
I said I wouldn't let you lie,
But I didn't let you do it once,
I let you do it twice,

I guess I just couldn't accept.
That we weren't meant to be,
But now it seems I have no choice,
As all that's left is me,

I'll probably still see you in the street,
You'll blank me as I wave,
But I'll still put on a big smile,
I'll show you that I'm brave,

But when I get back in the house,
That smile will turn to tears,
And I'll cry myself to sleep again,
Drowning in my fears,

Then I wake up next morning,
My eyes are sore and red,
And again I will think of you,
And all the things you said,

Then I'll go about my day,
As though everything is fine,
I'll have a smile on my face,
But inside my heart is crying,

I don't want to live my life this way,
Don't want to live with the pain,
As what's the point of living,
As it can never be the same.
