Pain and Pleasure

by Kay   Jan 18, 2007

This can't be life... this can't be love
This ain't what it ought to be
Lonely days are all but foreseeable
New chapter with sorrow and loneliness
The eye sees what it needs to see
Causing us to act on mere impulses
The pain the heart feels is unbearable
Drinking away our problems seems easy
Yet no amount of it solves our problems permanently
Catching fresh reality is an ideal
Lest past memory has always been our nemesis
It's impossible under the circumstance to escape reality
Lack of self awareness and emotional control
Causes us to be disoriented and lose ourselves in the end
Separation of the body from the soul
Is as cruel as separation of two lovers
Constant struggle to be at peace
Is the direct result of our own dismay
Small gives birth to something bigger
Just as death gives birth to life and vice versa
Pain and pleasure goes hand in hand
As we experience one just as the other comes to an end
Loneliness should therefore give birth to happiness
Sleepless nights and tears are simply a step
Towards the path of healing and forgiveness
Sight of lovers embracing one another adds to our queries
Constant reminded of what should've and could've been
The fear of the unknown stops us from ultimate enlightenment
Perhaps something better could come from our queries
Yet it won't be known till we've gone through it
Embracing the worse sounds ludicrous yet ridiculous
Time is of an essence and it's not reversible
Brighter days and fond memories is all there's to turn to
Setbacks are meant for us to learn from and not to forget about
Preparing and making us a better person for the future
For this reason one should rejoice for being at such state
For it won't be long before one cease to breath
