Laughter

by Flying Phoenix   Jan 18, 2007

That haze of devils breath
Lifted suddenly off my buried heart
Startled by this reprieve
A smile caught my face
And I laughed

Laughing that sound of joy
I had come to forget
My laugh of pure madness
Untainted delight
As I am happy again

Simple though it all may seem
I was stuck and drowning
In a tomb of self-pity
Loathing and hate
'Till he came
And my illness fell away

Smile plastered across my face
And laughter following me
I wander off to the future
With you there to join me
