Bill of Rights (acrostic)

by scars and stories   Jan 19, 2007

By thine ancestor's righteous sacrifice
In the darkest of their days, they
Lit the way to thy freedom-
Lit the way to the hope
Of millions who followed in their footsteps,
Fighting to protect those very same
Rights. What else hath lasted for centuries,
Intending to endure even further-
Going beyond thine own time
Holding its light
To a truly brighter future-
Saving the race from inhumanity
