Silent Regret

by Yeshi   Jan 20, 2007

The times we spent together,
The long years of joyful laughter and fun,
Your warm and caring smile,
You could always make me laugh,
Even on a day when nothing seemed to go right.

If I had known then how precious life truly was,
I would've spent far more time with you,
I would've stayed near you until you told me to leave,
I would have tried to be
A better sister...
For you...

Looking back on those far-off days,
I realize I would give anything to
Experience them once more...
To have you here again...
To hear your jokes, and your voice..

One night changed everything...
And now you are gone..
Though Mom says you are dead to us...
She speaks only for herself...

You will never be dead to me..
I will never forget you,..
And I'm still hoping you are all right..

You told me when
You tried to kill yourself..
And wanted to end it all..
You thought of me...
You said that you knew you had to continue living...
Because you knew if you ceased to exist...
I would too...
