Virtues and Vices

by Sylent1   Jan 21, 2007

Step through the threshold and move along.
Our lives will change after today.
The door to my heart is larger than me.
Thoughts and question lost in this life’s abyss.
Today these burdens may break my neck.
Mud and filth condense within me.
Mire settles inside my brain.
Memories blaze and hands shake as I pen these words for you.
Step through the threshold and move along.
Our lives will change after today.
Desire calls for you across the red threshold.
He seductively salivates as she waits for you.
There are meanings in words I wish you understood.
My many questions cumulate into grey melancholy.
There are different choices with virtues and vices.
We are both saint and sinner in the game we play.
The tree of knowledge still haunts us.
Be cautious of what you bite my love.
The fruit may be poisoned like the paths you could choose.
Step through the threshold and move along.
Our lives will change after today.
