No One Noticed

by Colby   Jan 22, 2007

I sat there for awhile
with the rain covering my tears
as I watched everyone pass
and laugh at me for years,

I got up from my throne
and walk alone the line
to find no body noticing me
and myself just fine,

I walked into
a dark and narrow way
and sat down next to this
older man who sat there to pray,

I asked him his name
he stuttered and told me leave
as five men were walking toward us
I found myself scared and couldn't believe,

They pulled me up
and threw my against the wall
I closed my eyes as scared as could be
they put me down and turned away and I started to crawl,

The older man pointed to me
yelling with fear in his voice
the men chased after me
and I stopped with no choice,

I felt this sharp pain in my back
and fell on my knees
I wanted to yell but couldn't
knowing that my pain was yet to ease,

I woke up
the men were not in sight
but my hands were red
I wasn't giving up with out a fight,

I stood up
looking for the older man
I found down on the ground
I was going to save him, but had no plan

I was still weak
as I picked him up off the ground
he looked at me in eyes
opening his mouth he still made no sound

I walked out on the street
as people still not noticing me
not saying one word but walking away
I had a dying man in my hands, couldn't they see,

I brought him to help
as he lay there propped up in the bed
a man walked up putting his hand on my shoulder
saying this might be the mans end,

That long awkward moment
telling me that he was dead
a tear dropped down
and this was the very moment I dread,

If only people noticed me
instead of just staring
he would of lived
and had a life that was daring,

One week later
I was dressed up in black
watching them bury him
I turned around and couldn't look back,

After the speech was done
I walked over to road
as a guy walked up to me looking me in the eys
as I thought his care he only showed,

He told me that things would be ok
but I disagreed and told him
it was not me it was them
and that their sight was just to dim,

I got home as someone knocked on the door
the old mans sister was there
hugging me she said thank you trying
and that I would be in her prayer,

This one girl changed my life
when she told me I would be in her prayer
it brought tears to my eyes knowing that
someone out there would look at me and care.

I can totally relate to the ending....one person really can make a difference. Don't you wish more of the world realized that?

Omg this poem is sooo pwerful!! i love it! its so sad though and gosh wow its awsome! a couple of suggestions though... "They older man pointed to me" - i think they is supposed to be the?.. and ... "as he lay there propped up there in the bed".. i suggest that you only use one there in that sentence.. other than that this poem is perfect!! great job 5/5
