My dear Molly

by Bridget   Jan 23, 2007

We got Molly when she was a little kitten,
and she was the cutest thing around.
She would unravel the toilet paper and climb the curtains,
then fall asleep without a sound.

The whole family liked to cuddle and play with her,
and oh how she loved the attention!
She would fall asleep absolutely anywhere,
and loved me to tickle her chin.

She grew bigger and bigger every day,
until she was fully grown.
She started to catch rats and birds,
and go out all night on her own.

Molly was definitely a lap cat,
she loved to snuggle up on someone's lap.
But i think she thought the garden,
was the best place to take a nap.

A couple of times Molly went missing,
she even got sick one time.
But she would always return home alive,
except for the night she died.

That night I was woken from my sleep,
and pulled from the comfort of my bed.
I was led into the lounge, and what I saw there,
was my molly lying dead.

My family were gathered around her stiff body,
and told me she had been hit by a car.
She had tried to drag herself back home,
but couldn't make it that far.

My tears were uncontrollable,
and my sobs were making me insane.
Molly had died at only four-years-old,
and she would have been through a lot of pain.

It's been over two years since Molly's been gone,
and I'm hating our time apart.
And although she was only a cat,
she will always hold a place in my heart.

~ R.i.P Molly, I will never forget you. ~

As I read it, I thought Of my dog MC'cloud. I lost him also when he was only four, and it tore my heart apart. He was my best friend and as I am sure Molly will alway have a place in your heart so will Mccloud have a place in mine.Wonderfully Penned, I enjoyed it Immensly..
Best of wishes and strength to keep on going.

Aw, this was sad and touching; although a great meaning in itself. Sorry about losing your precious pet. Great work.
