At My Funeral

*
As I lie in my coffin,
Among red, silken sheets
Caged inside of ebony,
Enclosed mid-waist to feet

As my hair's placed perfectly
Such a rare sight to behold
Have I changed you in any way?
Have I helped shape your mold?

My hands lie on top of each other
My finger adorned with one single ring
Have I been like your sister?
I want to know, what do you think?

Have I been your family?
Did I kiss you goodnight
Right up on your forehead
Before I turned off the light?

Did I tell you secrets
Before they went back to me?
Did you answer quickly
Before my heard skipped beats?

Were you the one who gave me roses
On the same day of my death?
Are you putting them in my coffin
So I may at once regain my breath?
