Friends Like Us

by silence   Jan 25, 2007

This is the poem
That we are writing you
Because with friends like us
You'll never have to be blue

Just think about the times we've shared
The Christmas tree and such
And remember all the fun we've had
How could we ever laugh so much?

We'll always remember movie gallery
And laying in the floor after hours
Remember going to 'Mexico'
With Phil thinking he had super powers

Jesse hanging out the window
Going down the interstate
The world passed us by
But we were never late

We lived so care free
Not caring day to day
As long as we had each other
Our smiles would never go away

We lost you for awhile
But then we found you again
Never knowing the new memories
That were going to begin

Thinking of the late nights
Drinking at your place
Even though seeing Jesse
Made my heart race

No matter what happens
We seem to always have fun
And now our second chance at friendship
Has only just begun

I wrote this for my friend who has been diagnosed with cancer. They found a spot on his aeorta (a major valve that pumps blood to your heart)
