Alone

by Anthony Newsome   Jan 27, 2007

This world will never be everything we want to see,
Maybe they're just figments,
Their eyes can never move after sight of how we bleed,
Maybe we're just screaming for the sake of sense,
Or maybe it's more the lack of this,
I've nothing left to hold but you,

So please...don't leave me,

Standing here alone.
You've slipped away again.
Looking back on this I'm not so sure it's just a game.
Looking back on this I'm not so sure you should be ashamed.
Once more, I'm lost in my own home.

This world will never become anything more than their income.
Maybe I'm not the best choice you could've made,
but I'm so glad you've stayed.
Maybe I can't give you their world,
but rest assured you are mine.

So please, don't leave me....

Alone.
