Card Game

Lets draw from the pack.
Will it be the King of Hearts?
No.
The Joker again.
The grin on his face send shivers down my spine.
He's grinning at me.
Laughing at me.

Lets draw from the pack.
Will it be the King of Hearts?
No.
The two again.
Even, although he always turns out to be odd in the end.
The lowest of the low.
Too low for me.

Lets draw from the pack.
Will it be the King of Hearts?
No.
The Ace again.
At first glance he appears to be the best of the lot.
He knows he is the best.
That spoils his perfection.

Lets draw from the pack.
Will it be the King of Hearts?
No.
The King of Spades again.
Not a King if a spade is the only thing it can lift.
I deserve better.
I deserve love.

Lets draw from the pack.
Will it be the King of Hearts?
No.
The Queen of Hearts.
Mmm...
I'll settle with that.
Never liked men much anyway.

Ashley, That is the point of being creative. They were able to relate dating to something else and it worked. i really liked it. It may not be a poem that will win first palce or anyhting but that is not what writing is about. people may not write on the same level as you or the same way either. instead of writing lost love poem about not finding the right guy she or he i forgot who wrote it, anyways they turned it into a funny poem. we seem to reject the unfimliar, not just ashley but i noticed that a lot on this site. people seem to be stuck with a traditional way of poetry with every other line rhyming and the same amount of syllables in each line but poetry is so much more than structure anyways sorry for writing a lot i just had to get hat out, good job i really like it.
