I LOVE THE WAY YOU SMILE

by Jeff ROWE   Jan 27, 2007

I love the way you smile,
Without pretense, no mask, simply you.
Looking at your eyes, I see them as windows without curtains
Because they are open and clear
As if to say, You may look at my soul for I have nothing to hide,
And if your eyes are the windows to your soul, then your mouth is its doorway, Especially when we kiss,
And how I feel when I am close to you,
Easy and natural, just plain me, the real me.
There's no need for me to put on or try to be something I'm not,
For when I am with you, I feel like a person, not a thing,
And I see you as a person, and a woman,
Comely, concerned, loving and so very much alive.
Sometimes, I see the "LITTLE GIRL" in you,
Especially when you cry or feel lonely or afraid.
When you are like this, I want to be by your side
And put my arms around you,
And say, Honey, I don't know why you are crying,
But, hold me and let me comfort you.
As I brush a curl of hair from your face,
And softly kiss away your tears,
You put your arms around me and squeeze me tightly,
Without a word,
I know why I love you the way I do.
