Pain in my heart

by charlotte   Jan 27, 2007

Simple beauty,such happiness
a coffee in your hand, that paper in your lap
your cigarette in the ashtray, ash on the floor
Otis redding playing loud as you tap your feet
oh i can see us now, that setting etched in my mind
the strength in your arms as you pull me close
well i can almost smell the smoke on my clothes
the taste of coffee on your lips as you kiss me so sweet
oh how i loved those moments
beauty disappeared when you left me
love dissolved with your life
such sadness fills this heart of mine
tea in my cup, pictures in my hands
clean ashtrays and fragranced rooms
silence from our radio fills this empty house
just memories to keep me warm, keep me safe
you know i miss those arms of yours
oh how i miss you
