Standing here
Shivering in the drenching rain
Looking up to your window
Wishing to talk to you

You're looking out your window,
Here I am
Can't you see me?
Am I invisible now?

Rain pounding on my head
My clothes soaked
Shivering in my shoes
But I'm unmoving

This rain is bound to kill me
Why won't I move?
Still staring at your window
Unable to tear my eyes away

By now its late
I'm frozen in place
When your parents find me
My eyes still at your window
Frozen in place

I'm still alive
But oh so cold
They wonder why I'm here
I answer, I've no place to go

They call you down
You're still awake
You look surprised and scared
To see me there

I hide myself
And run out the door
You chase me
And grab me
And bring me back inside

I was given warmth
I was given shelter
I was given food
I was given care and hope
But I was never given the love
That I longed for
